Ground oatmeal exfoliates your skin without being too harsh, absorbs excess oils and removes impurities, leaving your skin nourished and hydrated. It relieves irritated, dry and flaky skin, soothes and heals acne and sunburn, and helps fight free-radicals which helps promote a healthier, glowing skin.

Freshly brewed green tea helps to clear skin blemishes and acne, fights damage caused by free radicals and slows down the premature ageing process. The slightly abrasive texture of dry green tea leaves acts as a great exfoliator to banish dead skin cells and purge pollutants.

Lavender essential oil inhibits the bacteria that cause the skin infection, soothes  dry, itchy skin, eczema and dermatitis,  and minimizes the appearance of scar tissue.

How to make the body scrub:

Pour one cup of water into a non-reactive pot or pan (glass or stainless steel) and heat it to about 180 °F (80 °C). Add 3 tablespoons of green tea leaves and let simmer for 2-3 minutes. Let the tea cool down to room temperature. In the meantime, combine the oatmeal with the dry green leaves, then pour the freshly brewed green tea while stirring constantly until you get a thick paste. Add 5 drops of lavender essential oil, one drop at a time, stirring until well mixed.

Apply to body, gently rubbing in a circular motion for 5-7 minutes. Rinse well and pat dry.

How often?

Use this homemade body scrub once or twice a week.
