Apricot kernel oil exfoliates the skin by removing dead skin cells as well as unclogging pores. Thus, it keeps the skin smooth and radiant by stimulating fresh cell growth. Light, gentle, mild and non-irritating, apricot kernel oil is also a great natural moisturizer for any type of skin. The high Gamma Linoleic Acid (GLA) content present in apricot oil enables your skin to maintain its moisture balance and also helps tone and firm up your skin. The Vitamin A and Vitamin E present in apricot oil slow down the signs of ageing. Since this oil contains anti-inflammatory properties, it can be used to soothe minor skin conditions, like eczema.

Finely ground organic cornmeal is one of the most efficient exfoliants for skin. It gently removes dead skin cells without irritating skin, performing as a reliable at-home microdermabrasion treatment that promotes healthy epidermal cell growth.

Freshly ground black pepper helps to remove dead skin cells and exfoliate your skin. This will help remove toxins from your skin, leaving it soft and radiant. By creating a unique warming effect, black pepper also helps promote blood circulation and provides more oxygen and nutrients to your skin. Its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties help prevent acne.

Lemon juice is a natural exfoliant since the citric acid acts as a gentle “skin peel” that removes the top layer of dead skin cells. This will result in a smooth skin when used regularly.

How to make the body scrub:

Mix the ingredients together and massage the resulting mixture onto your skin for about 7 minutes. While massaging your body with the body scrub, it is possible to feel a slight warming sensation, which is normal and will go away in just a few minutes. Wash the scrub off with lukewarm water without using shower gel.

How often?

Use this homemade body scrub twice a week.
