This homemade body scrub exfoliates dead skin cells while rejuvenating and softening the skin. Suitable for all skin types and especially for dry and sensitive skin.

What you need:

  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 3 tbsp. of coconut flakes (preferably from fresh coconut meat, but you can also use prepackaged dried coconut flakes)
  • 3 tbsp. brown sugar

Why you need them:

Using a cream scrub on your skin removes dead cells, thus imparting it a natural glow. Cream also helps to lighten red spots, reduce allergic reactions and heal wounds, and keeps your skin moisturized throughout the day.

Coconut flakes soften the skin and relieve dryness and flaking, help to form a chemical barrier on the skin to ward of infection, reduce symptoms associated with psoriasis, eczema, and dermatitis, and support the natural chemical balance of the skin.

Brown sugar helps hydrate your skin and keep moisture within while exfoliating dead surface skin cells and reveal the glowing, healthy-looking skin underneath.

How to make the body scrub:

Because the coconut flakes are kind of long and not really grainy, the first step is to finely grind them until they’re about the size of sugar granules. Mix all ingredients together and massage the scrub onto your skin with fast circular motions for a few minutes. A textured wash cloth or exfoliating scrub pad will add additional exfoliating benefits. Be sure not to rub too aggressively if you use an exfoliating pad as it can cause scratches and abrasions. Rinse the scrub off with lukewarm water and pat dry. You don’t need to apply a moisturizer after using this body scrub.

How often?

Use this homemade body scrub 2-3 times a week.
