This deep conditioning treatment for damaged hair protects the hair against the damaging effects of sun, salt, chlorine, wind and pollution in the environment, while reconstructing it at the same time.

Coconut oil works incredibly well for repairing damaged hair that has been over processed, heat damaged, or is just naturally dry. Coconut oil penetrates the hair shaft and nourishes the hair cuticles with fatty acids (lauric acid, capric acid) and vitamin E, repairing and preventing damage from the inside out. Regular application of coconut oil hair treatments also slows downs premature graying.

Pure organic sesame oil is a perfect remedy for deep conditioning dry, damaged hair, strengthening brittle and split hair strands, plus promoting a healthy scalp and new hair growth. Because it blocks out about 30% of the sun’s rays, sesame oil also acts as a UV filter on the hair, preventing color fade and damage cause by sun rays.

Extra virgin olive oil contains high levels of monounsaturated fatty acids and vitamin E, good for moisturizing, protecting and nourishing hair. Used for centuries in hot oil treatments, extra virgin olive oil strengthens hair, helps repair split ends, controls dandruff and makes your hair shiny, silky and lustrous.

Combine ½ cup of coconut oil with ¼ cup sesame oil and ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil, and warm them up in a double boiler. Massage well into dry hair and scalp and leave on for one hour. To remove from hair, first thoroughly massage in shampoo, then rinse with warm water.

Use this damaged hair treatment once a week for deep conditioning or every time your hair has been exposed to sun and salt water, as a post-beach DIY treatment.
