19. Damaged Hair Treatment with Figs, Olive Oil and Rose Hip Seed Essential Oil

This treatment has instant results and is ideal for dry hair or hair that has been damaged by prolonged exposure to chlorine, salt water and wind.

Figs contain hair-friendly nutrients like calcium, magnesium, copper, potassium, and vitamin C, E and K. The essential nutrients present in this fruit moisturize, soothe and condition damaged and dry hair.

Olive oil strengthens and smooths hair cuticles, moisturizes and adds shine to dull, damaged hair.

Rose hip seed oil is an excellent source of vitamins A, E, C (which helps in the production of collagen), and fatty acids. It conditions, strengthens and revitalizes dry, damaged or brittle hair and encourages healthy hair growth.

Mash the pulp of 3 figs, mix with ½ cup extra virgin olive oil and ¼ cup rose hip seed oil and blend until smooth. Massage the mixture into hair (one section at a time) gently pulling downward on strands smoothing the cuticle for about 2 minutes. Once all hair is covered, wrap a cling film around the head and cover with a warm towel. Leave the treatment on for 30 minutes, then rinse and shampoo.

Repeat this treatment for damaged hair once a week (or more often, during the summer, after a day at the beach).
